"होल कुशास!" खुद अ चू! "Happy Holi!" with an exclamation. A happy occasion with fun games, colours, and family. Photos are taken of loved ones probably with the most loved time of the year…Holiday. The title says it all as the film is attracting a good business as it is about a girl who wants to take her family on a vacation holiday. In this film, the family takes a trip down south for some fun and ultimately find love along with some hidden memories of Holi. According to the director, he wanted to make a movie on Holi which was different from the conventional way of portraying Holi in Bollywood films. The story of "Happy Holi" is loosely based on his own experience.
This movie tells the story of a group of friends who have also celebrated their friend Santosh’s birthday at his house on 15 January 2013. After party, they decide to go for a trip leaving the gift in the house. On the way they meet Arjun (Candace), who is into making Jalebis in train is not seen by them. They reach Jaipur. After spending time there, they leave to Udaipur by car where Viren (Aakash) buys some gifts for his wife. They also come across Raja (Neil Bhoopalam), Santosh’s friend, who joins them in their trip for some fun and frolic with his friends. In Udaipur they meet a local, who tells them about a house for rent. They go to the house and take it on rent. In the house, they find a small box. There is a message in it which says "Keep this box with you and enjoy your Holi". After solving all puzzles and riddles, they open the lock and take out the treasure and also kiss each other as Holi come to their life.
The executive producer of this movie is Vaishali Desai who is the sister of director Dilawar Shrivastava. She has also played an important role in this film as she has lent her voice for one song as well as acted as Rani’s mother. The casting of this movie has been carried out from the actual duo from Andhra. The director, Dilawar Shrivastava had developed a friendship with them and he had followed them in a few films.The songs of "Happy Holi" were composed by Nachiket Shinde and the lyrics were penned by Piyush Kewalekar, Naresh Atre, Manoj Muntashir and Aditya Narayan Sengupta. The music was released by T-Series.
